Process of Review

Articles submitted to Westcliff International Journal of Applied Research will undergo a three-fold review process. Upon receipt of submission, all articles will be reviewed by the associate editor for adherence to submission guidelines and the plagiarism policy indicated above. Should articles meet the general submission guidelines, the articles will be reviewed by members of the editorial board to determine that the articles fit the scope of this journal. Those that do will be sent forward through a peer review process, providing contributors feedback on their submissions. WIJAR adheres to a double-blind peer-review process, and thus, ensures the confidentiality of both the reviewer and author at all times. Contributors will receive one of the following responses after the peer-review:   “accepted,” “conditionally accepted with minor revisions required,” “conditionally accepted with major revisions required,” or “declined submission.”

  • Accepted: Article is accepted with only minor changes required. The article will be sent on to an editor for a more in-depth review.
  • Conditionally Accepted with Minor Revisions: Article is accepted upon necessary adjustments made based on peer-review feedback. Upon completion of these changes, the article will be sent on to an editor for a more in-depth review.
  • Conditionally Accepted with Major Revisions: Article requires substantial changes to be made prior to acceptance. The article has been deemed of interest and to possess potential, but requires the author’s attention to adjust to the main areas mentioned. Upon completion of these changes, the article will be sent on to an editor for a more in-depth review.
  • Declined Submission: Article is not accepted for publication. The content, purpose and/or research of the article is not appropriate for WIJAR.

Those authors who receive an acceptance or conditional acceptance will also be provided a deadline for resubmission with recommended changes to be completed. Once the adjusted article is received, the article will be sent to an editor for final review.
